Year Abroad Administrator (Part Time, Fixed Term)

Are you an organised, proactive, and people-focused administrator looking for a rewarding part-time role in a vibrant academic environment? The Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics is looking for a friendly and motivated Administrator to join our Year Abroad Office this September.

As a world-leading centre for teaching and research in languages and linguistics, our Faculty is home to five dynamic sections - French, German, Italian, Slavonic, Spanish & Portuguese - and the Department of Theoretical & Applied Linguistics. With nearly 1,000 students and around 140 staff, we're a lively and collaborative community based on the central Sidgwick Site, just a short walk from the heart of Cambridge.

In this 0.6 FTE role, you'll become a key part of our supportive Year Abroad team, working closely with two experienced Administrators and our Year Abroad Director. You'll help guide students through the exciting process of planning and undertaking their overseas study, liaise with international partner institutions, and provide ongoing support while students are abroad. You'll also collaborate with colleagues across the Faculty, the School of Arts and Humanities, and the International Student Office.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A collaborative approach and a commitment to high-quality service
  • Experience improving administrative systems and processes
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changing needs

This role is based on-site at least two days per week, with hybrid working available once training is complete.

If you're passionate about supporting students and enjoy working in a dynamic, international environment, we'd love to hear from you!
