Functional Analyst
The Functional Analyst role is vital to support business needs now, and in the future and is crucial to the support, integrity and enhancement of University Finance systems and associated reporting tools. The purpose of the Functional Analyst role is to work alongside an expanding team to support BAU systems tasks and to investigate, log and provide solutions to complex functional and business process issues across all Finance System modules.
The Role
The successful candidate will investigate issues, formulate options for a way forward and produce specifications setting out solutions. The work of the functional analyst will be to liaise between the business and development teams where appropriate, to ensure business requirements are translated fully and accurately. You should have extensive experience of working in a second-line support role.
Your Skills
You will be able to demonstrate a logical and pragmatic approach as second-line support with the ability to adapt to each individual situation and find a resolution for the customers.
You will have demonstrable experience of supporting Oracle EBS R12 application ideally in the HE sector.
Alongside these you will possess:
A key decision maker and influencer in the configuration and development of Finance systems and associated reporting tools.
The ability to work closely with external parties, stakeholders and other institutions at a senior level and provide input and advice based upon specialist knowledge and experience.
Identify and pro-actively manage important risks, issues and problems effectively.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows.
The Finance Division has embraced hybrid working and individuals are currently working with their team two days a week from a University site, principally Greenwich House, and three days worked remotely (for those working a standard Mon to Fri week). This arrangement is subject to change and will not form a part of the contractual terms of the role.
Funding for this post is available for 2 years in the first instance.
