Policy Support Evaluation Specialist (Fixed Term) Internal Secondment Opportunity

Are you passionate about cultural policy, impact evaluation, and making a difference through data-driven insights? The University of Cambridge Museums (UCM) is seeking a dynamic and collaborative specialist in evaluation and cultural policy to work across the University's world-renowned collections.

In this pivotal role, you'll design and deliver evaluation frameworks that measure the impact of cultural engagement - particularly with underrepresented or vulnerable communities. You'll work closely with colleagues across the University's eight museums, the Botanic Garden, and the University Libraries and Archives, as well as wider University departments to embed evidence-based decision-making, influence cultural policy, and support sector leadership. From developing case studies and training programmes to contributing to funding bids and national conversations, your work will shape how our collections serve diverse audiences and inform future strategies.

About You

We're looking for someone with a strong understanding of impact evaluation methodologies (ideally within a cultural or higher education context), experience informing or developing cultural policy, and a commitment to inclusive practice.

To work effectively across our Collections, you'll be a natural collaborator with excellent organisational skills, strong self-motivation, and the ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences. You'll be a skilled project manager, confident with both qualitative and quantitative data, and adept at training others to embed evaluation in their work. A degree in a relevant subject and a passion for inclusive, accessible cultural engagement are essential.

If you're ready to drive meaningful change through research and collaboration, we'd love to hear from you.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 July 2026 in the first instance.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a security check.

The post is offered to internal candidates only on the basis of a secondment from their current role in the University.
