Faculty Secretary

The Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics (MMLL) is seeking a proactive, adaptable, and highly organised individual to join our administrative team in the role of Faculty Secretary.

This is a dynamic and varied position at the heart of the Faculty's operations. Based in the Faculty Office, you will serve as our first point of contact - welcoming students, staff, and visitors, responding to day-to-day enquiries, and supporting the smooth running of our activities and logistics. You will also play a key role in coordinating ongoing projects and maintaining effective administrative procedures.

Working closely with the Faculty Coordinator and a wider team of professional services staff, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality support for teaching and research. Your ability to communicate clearly, manage multiple tasks, and work both independently and collaboratively will be essential to your success in this role.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience in administration or customer service
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • A flexible, can-do attitude and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Confidence in dealing with people at all levels of seniority

While this full time role is primarily office-based, the Faculty supports flexible working arrangements and currently operates a hybrid working model.

Informal enquiries are welcome and should be directed to the Faculty Coordinator on FacultyCoordinator@mmll.cam.ac.uk.

For questions about the application process, please contact the Schools HR Team on MMLLPersonnel@admin.cam.ac.uk.

The closing date for applications is midnight (BST) on Sunday 10 August 2025. Interviews are expected to take place in person on Thursday 21 August 2025, subject to change.
