Are you an organised, detail-oriented administrator looking to grow your career in a high-impact research environment? The Healthcare Improvement Studies (THIS) Institute at the University of Cambridge is seeking a Business Administrator to join its dynamic Director's Office team.
THIS Institute is a research centre dedicated to strengthening the evidence base for improving healthcare. Funded by the Health Foundation, our work combines academic rigour with real-world insights from patients and healthcare staff. Based in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care, we are home to over 60 staff working across a range of ambitious studies and pride ourselves on our collaborative, inclusive culture.
About the role
As Business Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of THIS Institute by delivering first-class administrative support to the Executive and Director's Office teams. You'll manage calendars, coordinate meetings and events, liaise with colleagues, and contribute to a wide range of activities from meeting support to project coordination.

Key responsibilities include:
- Provide administrative and calendar support to senior staff
- Support event planning, including meetings and hybrid setups
- Manage documentation, emails, and confidential correspondence
- Help administer recruitment processes, purchase orders, and expenses
- Maintain and update digital databases and internal documentation
- Act as a first point of contact for internal and external enquiries
- Contribute to cross-institute projects and process improvements

- Has strong administrative and organisational skills
- Can manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Has good IT skills (Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint)

The funds for this post are available until 31 March 2027, initially.
This is a full-time position, and we welcome applications of no less than 0.80 FTE per week.
