Sponsorship for Early Career Research Award
The Cambridge Institute for Therapeutic Immunology and Infectious Diseases (CITIID) invites applications for sponsorship for an early career research award, such as a Wellcome Trust or Medical Research Council Career Development Award, or European Research Council Starting Grant. The award will be held in CITIID, either within the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre or within the University of Cambridge Department of Medicine Molecular Immunity Unit, housed within the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to visit the institute to deliver a seminar and participate in a chalk talk to present their research plans. This process is designed to ensure a transparent, inclusive, and fair selection.
We are seeking two early-career investigators with an outstanding track record in the fields of immunology or infectious diseases, compelling research plans that complement ongoing work at CITIID, and a strong commitment to contributing to a positive, collaborative research environment.
We will provide advice and mentoring for the successful candidates to develop and submit a competitive award application from their current position. The successful candidates will be provided with research space for the duration of the CDA, a local mentor, access to PhD and MPhil students, and matched seed funding for equipment to strengthen the CDA proposal.

About CITIID https://www.citiid.cam.ac.uk CITIID was established in 2019 and includes around 300 scientists within ~25 research groups, with laboratory space over three sites on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
