Senior Facilities Manager


The Role:

The Senior Facilities Manager is a pivotal role in managing the operational delivery for the University Library and the Library Storage Facility and supporting colleagues in Faculty and Departmental libraries in those aspects of operational delivery not covered by the 'host' building. This includes bring responsible for managing all activities of the Facilities Management team to ensure organisational success by way of safe, efficient and effective use of space, maintenance of the plant and equipment within the library plus management and leadership of the staff in the University Library and Faculty and Departmental Libraries (FDL) both from a day to day and long-term perspective.

The main duties of the role include:

  • Lead customer focussed delivery of FM services

  • Provide a key link to the University Library Management Team to ensure that service delivery is performing as they require

  • Develop and implement Workplace Strategies

  • Act as a primary interface with Estates Division functions such as Asset Management, Building Surveying, Statutory Compliance, Health & Safety and Sustainability

  • Deliver high standards of statutory compliance and health and safety performance

  • Drive FM performance through KPI's and SLA's

  • Budget Management

  • Providing technical and FM guidance

About you:

  • You will be able to demonstrate leadership experience in FM and Workplace Services within large and complex buildings

  • As well you will be able to show a real passion for delivering customer focussed services and understand the important of the customer journey within the building

  • For this role you will need to be an excellent communicator, who has the ability to show strong leadership and work within a team to deliver a high standard of service

  • It is not essential that you hold a degree for this role, we are looking for someone who can bring experience to this role although we won't mind if you do have a degree
