UBS Training and Competency Supervisor


University Biomedical Services (UBS) are seeking an experienced animal technician, with supervisory and training experience, for a position based in Cambridge.

You will work alongside the Training Team, Named Training and Competency Officers (NTCOs) and biofacility NACWOs, from across UBS, to develop practical and theory training, to be delivered to technicians and researchers within UBS facilities. Your duties will include development and delivery of theory and practical staff training programmes within the biofacilities, competency assessment of technicians and researchers, development and maintenance of accurate training records, as well as providing supervisory support within facilities as required.

You will have a good level of general education and hold a Home Office Licence with successful completion of Home Office Licence module categories A - C. You must have extensive experience of working in a designated establishment with laboratory animals including at supervisory level, and ideally will have completed an Institute of Animal Technology Level 3 qualification. Preferably, you will have experience delivering individual and/or group training sessions. An honest, conscientious approach, the ability to work to deadlines with attention to detail and the ability to carry out a number of versatile tasks are essential.

In addition to the base salary stated above, the successful candidate for this post will receive an additional 2.5% supplement to their pay.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment and a security check.
