Application Specialist (Student Systems) Internal Secondment Opportunity
Fixed-term: 18 months.
Are you a person with a passion for building and supporting IT systems? We are looking for someone with systems development experience to join our Student Systems team within University Information Services (UIS).
This role plays a key part in the development, enhancement, and ongoing support of CamSIS - the University's core student information system. This is an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in the technical side of Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, while working collaboratively at a University level with a diverse team of analysts, technical staff, and stakeholders. You'll make a meaningful impact to our strategic goals by resolving technical issues, developing new functionality, optimising system performance, and reducing technical debt.
To succeed, you'll be a technically capable and collaborative individual with experience of systems and software development. You'll be someone with experience of working with a range of programming languages used in developing IT systems, alongside skills in web development, SQL, and database design. If possible, we'd love to see familiarity with user experience and accessibility concepts, as well as an understanding of ITIL practices. Above all, we're looking for someone who can communicate effectively, manage their workload with confidence, and is committed to growing their technical expertise in a dynamic and evolving environment.
The post is offered to internal candidates only on the basis of a secondment from their current role in the University.
