Senior Finance Coordinator
CRASSH (Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities) supports, promotes and conducts interdisciplinary research of the highest order. It is one of the biggest and most active research centres in Europe producing a high number of conferences, events networks, visiting academics, and longer-term interdisciplinary research projects and events.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our excellent team as Senior Finance Coordinator to support staff at CRASSH and the affiliated research centres. You will be responsible for co-ordinating the finance administration services within CRASSH and contribute to the management of Centre's finances. This includes building positive working relationships with a wide range of colleagues.
You will be highly numerate, analytical and proficient in standard software packages, particularly Excel. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also essential, including the ability to explain financial regulations and procedures effectively to non-finance staff, displaying tact and diplomacy at all times. You will need to have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively as a member of a team. You must be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, whilst paying attention to detail and achieving high levels of accuracy. You will also be required to work on your own initiative within the scope of your role.
The role is mainly office based (ideally up to 4 days in the office during term and up to 3 days out of term), but hybrid and flexible working arrangements can be discussed.
You will hold at least a level 6 vocational qualification in finance (e.g. AAT Professional Diploma) or have equivalent practical experience. You must have substantial experience in a relevant finance role of using computerised accounting systems, ideally with Oracle financials and/or the Cambridge University Financial System (CUFS). Previous experience of working in an account's environment within a University would be an advantage.
