Research Associate in Bioeletronic Device Translation (Fixed Term)
A position exists for a Research Associate to lead the translation of bioelectronic devices for neurological applications. Candidates should have a PhD in electrical engineering and relevant translational experience. The project is highly collaborative, hence evidence of the ability to work with stakeholders in medical device translation within the NHS is critical.
The post holder will be located in West Cambridge, UK.
The key responsibilities and duties are working and interfacing with project partners to define performance metrics and validation criteria, reviewing relevant literature, designing devices and connectivity, device validation using agreed criteria and planning the use of research resources and your own research activity, in collaboration with others.
The skills, qualifications and experience required to perform the role are a PhD in Engineering, knowledge and experience in experimental techniques in fabrication and validation of bioelectronic devices and connection of bioelectronic devices with external electric and fluidic components. The role holder should also be experienced in collaboration and communication outside their own discipline and institution and in collaborating with clinicians, nurses and patients within the NHS. Experience in the ethics approval process for use of novel bioelectronic devices in clinical trials within the NHS is also required.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 6 months in the first instance.
