Research Assistant (Fixed Term)


The research assistant/outreach coordinator is required to work (for one year initially, with annual renewals and maximum of three years) on an international study funded by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) as part of the Alzheimer's Biomarkers Consortium-Down Syndrome (ABC-DS; https://www.nia.nih.gov/research/abc-ds/) that aims to investigate the high risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD) experienced by people with Down syndrome (DS). The study is cross-sectional and prospective. It seeks to identify cognitive and biological markers and track the progression of AD. The tasks include overseeing ADDORE: Alzheimer's disease-Down syndrome Outreach, Recruitment and Education activities at the Cambridge field site. This individual will be responsible for research recruitment strategies to enhance enrollment of all participants with DS and specifically minority and under-represented communities in the ABC-DS project, a NIH-funded multimillion dollar study that has nine performance sites in the United States and United Kingdom. The candidate will oversee research recruitment efforts and develop strong relationships with under-represented communities.

Candidates should have a Degree, Masters or equivalent in a relevant field of study.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.
