Research Associate: Sorbent scale-up and development (Fixed Term)


Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 9 months in the first instance.

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research associate to join the group of Dr Alexander Forse at the Department of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge.

This project is funded by an impact acceleration account grant (from UKRI) on the scale-up and commercialization of new adsorbent materials developed in the Forse Group. The primary aim of this project is to advance the scale-up and commercialization of a new class of adsorbent materials with applications in carbon dioxide capture from ambient air. An initial contract of 9 months is offered with the possibility of an extension.

Essential requirement 1: candidates must have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in materials science, chemistry, or chemical engineering. Essential requirement 2: experience with gas sorption experiments. Desired: experience of working with industry partners, experience of scaling up new materials.

Appointment at the Research Associate level is dependent on the award of a PhD. Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will be appointed at the Research Assistant level, which will be amended to Research Associate once the award of the PhD has been confirmed.
