Research Assistant (Part Time, Fixed Term)


Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available from August 2024 till December 2024, this is part-time basis (0.5FTE)

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant to join one of our research group, Core Lab, which develops algorithms and systems in the fields of computer vision, graphics, and AI for creating new forms of digital reality. We are looking for a Research Assistant to work on cutting edge technologies at the intersection of robotics, AI, and agritech.

The Department of Computer Science and Technology is an academic department that encompasses computer science along with many aspects of engineering, technology, and mathematics. Responsibilities:

  • Help shape a research agenda with a team of PhD/ graduate students/ interns/ collaborators
  • Publish at top venues in machine learning, computer vision, graphics, and robotics
  • Design and implement open-source software and systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or master degree in related subject or equivalent experience
  • Good knowledge of camera models, SLAM techniques, 3D reconstruction, and view synthesis techniques
  • Good knowledge of agritech, especially plant phenotyping
  • Experience with contributing to open-source systems
  • Experience with working with robotic and visual sensor hardware
