Senior Finance Coordinator
Are you an experienced finance professional willing to lead the finance team for the Faculties of Economics and History?
The Faculties of History and Economics are members of the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Cambridge. The Faculty of History is one of the world's largest and most diverse history departments, their work and teaching is consistently rated top in global rankings.

In this exciting new role, you will work across the two Faculties, taking responsibility for all areas of financial administration, supporting and enabling both daily operations and longer term strategic aims with effective financial processes, whilst ensuring University financial policies and procedures are followed.
Working alongside professional staff within both Faculties, you will bring together existing finance staff in both Faculties to create a new finance team, this is an opportunity to build resilience and increase the financial expertise within both Faculties.
The Role
You will provide high level financial advice to aid the planning, implementation and management of departmental finances in order to ensure financial and business objectives comply with financial regulations.
You will cover a full range of financial tasks, including AP, AR, GL management and reporting, procurement and post award grant management. You will be required to develop systems and processes as necessary to ensure they remain effective and fit for purpose. You will line manage a team of four staff.

You will be a key member of the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences Finance Team, reporting to the School Finance Manager, and will also operationally report to each Faculty Assistant Registrar.
Location
The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows.
The post holder will be physically based between the Faculties of Economics and History for at least part o each week which are co located on the Sidgwick Site off West Road in Cambridge.
