Year Abroad Administrator (Part Time)

The Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated administrator to join our Year Abroad team as soon as possible.

The Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics is a world-leading centre for teaching and research in language and linguistics comprising of six Sections: French, German, Italian, Slavonic, Spanish & Portuguese, and Theoretical & Applied Linguistics. With nearly 1,000 students (over 770 undergraduates, 100 MPhil students and 180 PhD students), the Faculty is home to around 140 academic, research and professional services staff based on the University's Sidgwick Site, a short walk from the Centre of Cambridge.

This 0.7FTE vacancy is assigned to our Year Abroad Office and the successful candidate will work closely with one other Administrator and our Year Abroad Director, as well as others across the Faculty. You will be responsible for ensuring developing and offering guidance and information for students planning their overseas study, liaising with our international partner institutions and continuing to support students during their time abroad. As well as our Faculty team, you will also develop a good working relationship with colleagues in the School of Arts and Humanities and our International Student Office for the benefit of our students.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills with a successful track-record of contributing to the development of administrative systems and processes to improve the service provided. They will work well as part of a team and demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality services to our students and staff. They will also be able to manage competing priorities and move between tasks at short notice to meet deadlines, without compromising quality.
