Research Associate/Senior Research Associate (Fixed Term)
Applications are invited for a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to join the Mental Health Neuroscience lab led by Dr Camilla Nord at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, University of Cambridge. Candidates with substantial postdoctoral experience can be considered for Senior Research Associate (Grade 9) appointment.
The post holder will form part of our interdisciplinary lab of cognitive neuroscientists at the MRC CBU developing neuroscientific methods to better understand and treat neuropsychiatric disorders. A current major focus of the lab is on the intersection of computational psychiatry and brain-body interactions, and many lab members lead work exploring the relationship between mental and physical health. To explore these topics, we use many different approaches, including cognitive testing, computational modelling, neuroimaging (fMRI, MRS), pharmacology, and brain stimulation.
The post holder will lead on development of new clinical and cognitive neuroscience projects in the lab, working closely with the PI to design new studies, coordinate with clinical and research collaborators, train more junior staff members and students, and manage research assistants responsible for recruitment and testing. We are actively supportive of career development, including those pursuing clinical training. Any training, experience, or collaboration to advance the candidate's future research/clinical interests will be actively encouraged and facilitated by the lab and the Unit (e.g. training courses; pursuing independent projects outside the lab's main interests; applying for independent funding).
The MRC CBU is a unique place to work - a highly collaborative MRC-funded Unit at the University of Cambridge. We are lucky to be equipped with world-class cognitive neuroscience resources, including MRI and MEG scanners, TMS/TMS-fMRI, eye-tracking, and cluster computing facilities.
