Personal Assistant to the Administration and Operations Manager
We are looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to the Administration and Operations Manager of the Gurdon Institute, a world leading scientific research Institute embedded in the University of Cambridge.
This crucial role provides a link between the Administration and Operations Manager (AOM) and other staff in the Institute, as well as with the wider University community and both national and international contacts. The post also supports the HR Manager and Deputy AOM.
You will be a highly motivated, experienced Personal Assistant with excellent interpersonal and IT skills, attention to detail and a "can do" attitude. Strong oral and written communication skills, organisational capabilities, ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines are also important. You will develop effective and efficient ways of working with the Administration and Operations Manager to organise all aspects of his work including diary management, recruitment and events. You will also prepare material for meetings, undertake correspondence and act as secretary to committees, producing reports for a varied audience - sometimes Institute wide, sometimes for senior and academic staff.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, calm under pressure and able to keep pace in a busy work environment. Operating with tact and discretion, being proactive in response to new matters as they arise. You will become an integral part of the core administration team and will benefit from the support of experienced and friendly colleagues. You would also enjoy working in a central Cambridge location at the cutting edge of science.
