Communications & Engagement Manager


We are seeking an experienced Communication and Engagement Manager to join the Department of Veterinary Medicine in this newly created role.

The role will develop and deliver strategic communications (internal, external and digital) in order to raise the profile of the Department and showcase its clinical service arm, research activity and impact, promote its veterinary education programmes, engage with diverse audiences and stakeholders in order to promote widening participation in all aspects of the Department's activities, and support its fundraising initiatives.

The role will work closely with colleagues at all levels and in all areas of the Department to provide communications advice and devise marketing plans.

The post holder will develop high quality written and visual content for communication channels including web copy, ecomms, and social media content.

The right candidate will have experience of a broad range of communications disciplines as well as experience of organising public engagement events and activities. Excellent planning and organisation skills, along with strong interpersonal skills are a must to be successful in this role.
