Administrative Assistant (Fixed Term)
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year in the first instance.
The Human Resources Division supports the University to deliver its strategic goals of excellence in education, learning and research via the recruitment, retention, reward, recognition and development activities of our staff.
Working closely with the Divisional Administrator, and alongside another Administrative Assistant, this role will provide administrative support to assist with the smooth running of the HR Division.
In this busy and varied role, you will be involved with various processes including:
- Finance administration; processing invoices, purchasing and running finance reports.
- Purchasing/ equipment; issuing IT equipment, monitoring stock, purchasing, reporting faults
- Updating systems such as Booker (desk booking) and Telecoms.
- General administrative support eg filing, responding to emails, monitoring reports and maintaining records.
Educated to A Level standard or equivalent, or with an equivalent level of practical, relevant experience, you should be able to demonstrate previous experience in an administrative role.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of people at all levels. You will join us with good organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to plan and prioritise your workload to meet conflicting deadlines.
You should have experience of using Microsoft Office, and of maintaining spreadsheets and systems. Experience of the University Finance System (CUFS) would be desirable, but is not essential.
