Research Analyst: Research Programme Coordination


The University of Cambridge is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join its team as a Research Analyst: Research Programme Coordination

The University of Cambridge is a world-leading centre of research and teaching, and receives funding from a variety of sources including governmental, charitable, and commercial, as well as sizeable bequests from organisations and individuals. The role-holder will support the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and the Cambridge Research Office with the management and co-ordination of a number of important institutional research projects and programmes and deliver key short and long-term priorities of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor including focus on a range of activities to support the Herchel Smith Endowment.

The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop a career in the area of research administration, and will offer the post-holder the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the University. Key responsibilities will include the following:

1.Co-ordinate the efficient running of institution wide research projects and programmes including, as required and not limited to, administration of selection processes, managing the appointment of new Fellows and students.

2.Provide direct support to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor to facilitate the delivery of key projects

3.Acting as secretary to selection meetings.

4.Creating and maintaining records and documents.

5.Managing and developing project plans to support the Academic leads and ensuring the smooth running and success of the projects.

6.Work with senior academic and administrative staff to manage the projects and programmes, raise awareness and organise events, including the annual Herchel Smith Symposium with Harvard University.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent numeracy, communications and organisational skills and a positive, customer-oriented approach. You will also have strong analysis and reporting skills, and demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience of project coordination. The multi-faceted nature of the role means you must be able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines. Proficiency in using Windows based packages is essential, and knowledge of Oracle Financials would be advantageous.
