Communications and IT Coordinator (Fixed Term)


Salary £31,502 - £37,386

Could you support our researchers and staff of the Department of Public Health and Primary Care to implement research information processes, manage the Department's website, train staff and monitor compliance? We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Communications and IT Coordinator to join our Professional Services Team to take the lead in implementing systems to ensure our department is well-informed and able to report information relating to the outputs and impacts of its research to our stakeholders.

You will be responsible for leading on the communications strategy for the department, maintaining websites and social media presence, implementing updates where appropriate and ensuring all colleagues have appropriate access to IT facilities both in the department buildings and when working remotely.

We are looking for someone who has excellent communication and organisational skills and is a competent user of standard software packages such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and Word. You will be self-motivated and reliable and will have experience of supporting academic colleagues with communicating research outputs, organising events/activities and procuring IT equipment. You will also have excellent interpersonal, planning and organisational skills and be educated to degree level qualification in a relevant subject/Level 6 vocational qualification or have equivalent experience. You will be able to provide high-quality administrative support, including keeping the Department's website up to date, creating social media and audio-visual content and contributing to internal communications activities.

The position is full-time and funding is available for 1 year in the first instance which is likely to be extended.

Location - Department of Public Health and Primary Care, Strangeways Research Laboratory, Worts Causeway, Cambridge CB1 8RN (approximately 2 miles south of the city centre)
