PA, Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy (Part Time, Fixed Term)
Applications are invited for a part-time PA to support the Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy (MCTD). This varied and responsible role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a newly established research centre. The PA will provide administrative and PA support to the Executive Director of the Centre as well as work closely with the Centre Administrator and External Affairs Manager. The successful candidate will provide administrative, clerical, event organisation, publicity and budget planning support as required by the Executive Director and professional staff.
The Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy (MCTD) is the first node in a planned international network of academic centres established to rebalance power and restore agency in a world dominated by digital platforms. MCTD is hosted within (CRASSH) and is supported by the Frontier Tech initiative.
The successful applicant will be educated to A-level standard/NVQ level 3 or an equivalent level of practical experience. The successful candidate will have relevant experience in research project administration in a science, social science or humanities field. The successful candidate will be numerate and have good IT skills, including experience of (or ability to learn quickly) a web Content Management System and familiarity with spreadsheets and budgeting. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, work equally well on own initiative and as part of a team.
The funds for this post are available until 28 February 2025 in the first instance. Working arrangements in terms of in-office or from home can be discussed.
The start date is from 1 May 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
