Research Laboratory Technician (Fixed Term)
Applications are invited for a Research Laboratory Technician to support the laboratory of Professor Dino Giussani. The role holder will play a crucial part in providing technical support to a large and productive research group, as well as working interactively with collaborators and others in the theme grouping.
This role will provide support for research projects investigating physiological outcomes in living animals and in isolated tissues. Further details of the research, can be found at https://www.pdn.cam.ac.uk/directory/dino-giussani.
The successful candidate will assist with the setting up of equipment and the conducting of experiments, providing instruction to students where necessary. They will support the administration of the laboratory, including the maintenance and replenishment of stock, housekeeping and cleanliness, adherence to health and safety procedures and the disposal and record keeping of waste.
You will be educated to A-level, NVQ level 3 or have an equivalent level of practical experience. The role holder will have experience of scientific research working with large animals and be able to demonstrate their knowledge of principles and processes related to the role of a laboratory technician. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail and good communication skills.
