Research Grant Co-ordinator (Part Time, Fixed Term)

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.

The Faculty of Economics is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and reliable individual for the role of Research Grant Co-ordinator, based at the Faculty of Economics, Sidgwick Avenue, Cambridge. The role holder is to support the Principal Investigator (PI), Prof Peter Bossaerts, in administering a Leverhulme International Professorship grant, awarded to support research aimed at exploring and understanding human adaptability in the face of uncertainty induced by complexity. The post-holder will provide administrative and clerical support to the PI toward managing the grant, organizing grant related recruiting and research activities, advising on expenditure and adherence to funder terms and conditions, regular financial reporting and billing. The role holder will produce some financial management reports as necessary for both internal and external purposes. The successful candidate will also be involved in providing administrative support to the team involved in the research, including towards ethics approval for experiments with human participants, towards meetings and workshops the team chooses to organize, and towards building relationships with departments on campus that the team chooses to engage with their quest for genuine interdisciplinarity.

This is a part time role for 3 days a week from Monday to Friday. On confirmation of your appointment, the successful candidate will adopt the Department's hybrid working model, consisting of days of work at home and days of work alongside other members of the Operations Team on site.

The successful applicant will be educated to minimum 'A' level standard, to include English Language and Mathematics or equivalent level of practical experience. He/she will be proficient in the use of IT and will be able to demonstrate their competency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases and email packages. This is a varied post which requires excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required alongside the ability to work both autonomously and as a part of a team. Experience in research grant administration and familiarity with (human behavioral, psychophysiological and perhaps also pharmacological) ethics approval processes would be beneficial.
