Research Assistant/Associate (Bioinformatician) (Fixed Term)

We seek a highly motivated postdoctoral bioinformatician to join our dynamic group investigating RNA modification pathways linked to cancer (Barbieri et al, Nature, 2017; Pandolfini et al, Mol. Cell, 2019). We are particularly interested in developing small molecule inhibitors of these pathways to be used in the treatment of cancer (Yanova et al, Nature, 2021). You must be ambitious and have a proven track-record of working independently, with a PhD (or equivalent) in bioinformatics, computational biology, mathematics, statistics, or be close to the completion of your degree.

The successful candidate will be someone with proven experience in the processing, analysis and management of large amounts of next generation sequencing datasets such as RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, CLIP-Seq and RIP-Seq. They will also have proven programming experience in Bash and R, Python or Matlab, as well as experience with dealing with large amounts of -omics data. Familiarity with Linux and job scheduling on high performance cluster environments is also required. A track record in the field of RNA biology, experience with Nanopore direct RNA sequencing and/or deep learning will be advantageous.

You will have excellent communication (written and oral) and documentation skills, coupled to the ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
