Senior Teaching Associate (Fixed Term)

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.

The University of Cambridge wishes to appoint a Senior Teaching Associate in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences to work on the Foundation Year Programme. This role is available as a full-time or part-time position (job share up to 1.0 FTE).

This programme offers a new route into Cambridge to students whose education has been disrupted or disadvantaged. It will prepare students for further learning and offer them the chance to progress straight to an undergraduate degree at the University.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in realising the educational objectives of the programme with the University of Cambridge's first cohorts of Foundation Year students in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. They will be expected to play an active role in developing the educational content for the curriculum of this multi-disciplinary course in the lead up to the first cohort arriving in the 2022-23 academic year.

Once the first cohort of students begin the course, the role-holder will be expected to deliver lectures, seminars and supervisions at the appropriate level on an ongoing basis, and have primary responsibility for up to three subject Papers on the course (according to FTE and subject expertise). They will also contribute to examining as appropriate for the course.

The successful candidates will also be encouraged to explore pedagogy related to university transition and educational disadvantage, undertake relevant training via the Cambridge Centre for Teaching and Learning, and connect with the wider academic community at Cambridge.
