The Accommodation Service is seeking an Information Adviser. This role will act as a first point of contact for the customers of the Accommodation Service in order to deliver an informed, courteous and helpful advisory service. The role holder will also provide an operational service as part of the wider administrative function: approving registrations, dealing with queries and disputes, supporting members of the University in their search for accommodation, including University owned and private properties.
You will be advising customers on all related matters for example, schools, childcare, utilities, transport etc, as well as providing information on where to find other support. In this role, you will liaise with and advise a variety of stakeholders, including private landlords.
An important element of this role is to support the Newcomers & Visiting Scholars' volunteers and members with their administrative and pastoral events.
The Information Adviser will be required to produce statistical information, provide and gather data, help with organising and booking events, and assist with income collection and recording. The role works closely with other internal and external teams and organisations so candidates will require strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ideal candidate will be educated to A level, NVQ level 3, and be able to demonstrate practical customer related, events organisation and property letting experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. A minimum of 5 GCSEs inclusive of English and Maths at grade C (5) or above are essential. We are looking for an individual who has experience using Microsoft Office, databases, updating websites, and online booking systems; with an ability to provide training to colleagues, as necessary. As well as this, a flexible approach to work is necessary, as occasional evening work to help with events may be required.
