Senior Project Manager

University Information Services (UIS) works collaboratively with colleagues in departments, colleges, and other institutions to provide a range of IT services to support the needs of all users at the University. The UIS Delivery Management Office (DMO) manages the delivery of IT projects for the University across four portfolios: Business Systems, Education, Infrastructure and Research.

We are looking for an experienced and highly-motivated Senior Project Manager/ Senior Delivery Manager to join our dynamic and welcoming team. You will assume responsibility for managing the delivery of an exciting and far-reaching piece of work looking at assessment infrastructure to underpin and enable examinations and assessment across the University. You will ensure a professional approach at all times, resulting in successful projects that are delivered on schedule, to agreed quality standards and within budget.

You are a capable Senior Project Manager with experience and comfortable in both agile and traditional environments. You are passionate about enabling and coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver in effective and collaborate ways. You are adept at planning, risk management, dependency management, resource planning and stakeholder engagement. You can demonstrate your experience of working in delivery-focused environments, promoting best-practice and striving for continuous improvement to enable the successful delivery of technology solutions.

Your background will include proven experience of managing projects/programmes and complex change activity with a sound understanding of agile and waterfall project management methodologies and techniques. You will possess excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to motivate project teams. You will be an effective communicator, able to network and build relationships at all levels with experience of influencing and negotiating with key stakeholders to achieve project goals.

As the successful candidate, you will have a degree/professional qualification and a strong background in project/programme management. You will have an agile, PRINCE 2 or APM certification and experience of both waterfall and agile project delivery.
