A Research Assistant position is available within the Cellular Senescence and Tumour Suppressors Group of Masashi Narita at the CRUK Cambridge Institute. Our group has previously made significant advances in the mechanistic understanding of cellular senescence (www.cruk.cam.ac.uk/research-groups/narita-group). This is an exciting opportunity to be the part of a successful and international group of scientists with world class expertise in tumour suppressor mechanisms, in an exciting cancer research institute.
We are looking to hire an enthusiastic individual to support on-going projects within the lab that seek to understand the role of senescence and ageing in cancer development. The candidate will integrate into a team environment and assist on several on-going projects. This will involve a number of techniques including immunohistochemistry, image analysis, and flow cytometry. Training will be provided where necessary. Previous experience in immunology, molecular biology, or another relevant discipline would be desirable, but not essential.
The successful candidate should possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and be able to work effectively in a team environment. Funding is available for two years in the first instance, potentially extendable, depending on funding.
The role is available as either part-time or full-time, and we welcome applications from individuals who seek to work flexibly.
Please ensure that you upload a covering letter and CV in the Upload section of the online application, including names and contact details of two academic referees. The covering letter should outline how you match the criteria for the post and why you are applying for this role.
