We are seeking a molecular biologist for the new next generation sequencing facility at the Gurdon Institute. The successful applicant will be responsible for sample tracking, quality control, processing, running, and data delivery for libraries of genome re-sequencing, small RNA sequencing, RNA sequencing, chromatin immunoprecipitation and other NGS applications. The post holder will also be responsible for maintaining the Illumina HiSeq and MiSeq sequencing instruments.
The ideal candidate will have proven skills in RNA and DNA manipulation, be highly organised and motivated, and have excellent communication skills. A first degree in biological sciences is essential. A working knowledge of next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies (eg Illumina) would be a benefit.
Limited funding: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
