The Centre for Digital Built Britain is a unique Centre positioned in the University of Cambridge's Academic Division. Founded in 2017, we form a multi-disciplinary team made up of specialist individuals all working towards the same goal - using digital techniques to support the modern digital transformation of the built environment sector.
The Head of Information Management leads CDBB's technical information management workstream, on behalf of the Head of CIH Programme. They will act as a technical leader, within CDBB, the Construction Innovation Hub and the wider stakeholder community. The role holder's remit will cover BIM (Building Information Management) and digital transformation, IMF (information management framework), and the economic impact of digital transformation. They will liaise with CDBB's other workstream leaders, including the Head of Engagement and Head of Skills and Knowledge Exchange, to ensure alignment and strong programme management of the CIH programme. The role holder will be responsible for all aspects of CDBB's information management, including budget, deliverables, consultants and staff.
In this role you will be leading the in-house technical expertise and advice on information management processes. On behalf of all CDBB's work streams, you will take the lead in the Construction Innovation Hub's technical network and technical group. You will represent CDBB on change programmes and working groups with local, regional and UK government bodies and with industry groups and representatives, and research collaborators.
To perform this role effectively you will need extensive experience of working as an information management specialist in the built environment and industry experience, working on digital transformation projects using BIM and other information management processes and technologies. You will have in-depth knowledge of industry standards and good practice information management as exemplified by the UK BIM Framework.
