We are looking for a Research Assistant/Associate to work on the project "Bringing to the Market a New Generation of AI-Powered Media Monitoring Tools", an EU H2020 project with the Priberam (Portugal, lead organisation), Deutsche-Welle (Germany), and Scandinavian Communications (Denmark) starting in March 2021. The successful candidate will be based in the Natural Language and Information Processing group (http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/research/nl/) at the Department of Computer Science and Technology and work with Dr. Andreas Vlachos.
The goal of the project is to enhance media monitoring in the industry through recent developments in NLP. The work in Cambridge will focus on developing methods for fact checking tailored to the needs of media monitors in news organizations and able to use their feedback.
Candidates will have completed a Ph.D. (or be close to completing it) in a relevant field such as NLP, Information Retrieval, Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning and be able to demonstrate a strong track record of independent research and high-quality publications. Essential skills include excellent programming (Python), NLP techniques, Machine Learning, and proven communication skills.
