Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research associate in Imaging Plant Interactions to work with Prof Uta Paszkowski in the Department of Plant Sciences, starting between 15th May and 1st July 2020.
During the beneficial interaction of plants with endomycorrhizal fungi complex, highly ramified fungal structures, form inside living plant root cells. These invaded cells are the focus of this study. It will apply inducible iINTACT and iTRAP to decipher the complex molecular mechanisms that control cellular morphogenesis during intracellular colonization. The projected work is part of a larger network, focusing on plant plasticity.
Applicants should have a PhD in molecular biology. Some knowledge on plant genetics and laser scanning confocal microscopy would be advantageous.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 July 2021 in the first instance.
