We are looking for a post-doctoral Research Associate to join the lab of Dr Albert Cardona whose lab is interested in the neural circuit basis of behaviour. You should have experience of the following: - Biophysical modelling of neuronal activity or neural circuit activity dynamics. - Data analysis with strong computer programming skills. - Neuroscience concepts and research methods. - Image processing, in particular image segmentation with modern techniques of computer vision and pattern recognition using machine learning. - Experienced in insect neuroscience (desirable).
We are looking for an enthusiastic and competent individual capable of independent thinking with excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You should have the ability to create internal and external contacts and build relationships for future collaboration as well as driving forward the research.
You should hold a PhD (or about to be awarded a PhD) in biology, physics, chemistry, applied maths or a related field specialising in computational modelling.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available up to 31/12/2023 in the first instance.
