We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to contribute to a systematic review of randomised controlled trials looking at mindfulness-based interventions for mental health promotion. This is an opportunity for a driven individual with a keen interest in gaining skills and understanding of systematic review methodology and randomised controlled trials of mental health interventions.
The main role of the successful candidate will be to complete data extraction and quality assessment (critical appraisal) of the included trials as a second independent reviewer. They may also work on other aspects such as data preparation for the meta-analyses or liaison with trial authors, collaborators and stakeholders. Contribution to publications will be encouraged as a co-author. Whilst they will receive on-the-job training, they should be familiar with basic randomised controlled trial, systematic review and meta-analysis methodologies. Experience in mental health research is desirable.
The post is supported by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) in the context of a larger programme of research involving meta-analysis supported by the NHS National Institutes for Health Research (NIHR). The role holder will support and maintain the University's national and international reputation for excellence in research. Contribution will be as a member of a research team carrying out research under the direction of a principal investigator. The role holder will participate in the overall contribution of the department as appropriate.
