Research Assistant/Associate (Bioinformatician) x 2


Applications are invited for two full-time Bioinformaticians/Computing Biologists (Research Assistants/Associates) to work on projects studying neural stem cells in Drosophila under the direction of Professor Andrea Brand at the Gurdon Institute, University of Cambridge. The ideal candidates should have completed a PhD or Masters' degree in biological science and/or computer science (or related discipline) and have experience in bioinformatics. They should be proficient with R and Python and have experience with the analysis of High-Throughput sequencing data, including single cell and bulk RNA sequencing, ChIP sequencing and ATAC sequencing. Knowledge of statistics and the application of statistical methods for robust data analysis is essential. Laboratory and wet-lab experience in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques would be a benefit.
