Research Strategy Manager (Fixed Term)

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years.

Applications are invited for a Research Strategy Manager to join the University of Cambridge Department of Computer Science and Technology.

The Department has an open and collaborative culture, supporting revolutionary fundamental computer science research, strong cross-cutting collaborations internally and externally, and ideas which transform computing outside the University. This key role within the Department will act as director of operations for research funding and partnerships, and will be part of the Head of Department's senior team. The Research Strategy Manager will be expected to liaise with senior managers from industry and third sector partners as well as across the University. The role includes responsibility for proactive identification and selection of new partners and funding opportunities (including commercial, government, and philanthropy), development of consortia proposals, and ongoing management of these relationships. The role-holder will also be for overseeing knowledge transfer activities (to partners and beyond) and innovation and enterprise activities of the Department.

The role of Research Strategy Manager will support the long term development of the Department by contributing to its strategic plans, leading its marketing activities and fostering good relations with sponsors and collaborators and will deputise for the Head of Department in matters relating to meeting sponsors, attending events, contributing to University policy discussions, research strategy and management, fundraising, knowledge transfer, innovation and enterprise.
