Applications are invited for a Research Associate to join the Cambridge Centre for Ageing and Neuroscience (CamCAN, http://www.cam-can.org). This Centre brings together a large group of researchers across the University of Cambridge and is based at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (MRC-CBU). The Centre's aim is to relate brain changes to cognitive changes over the adult lifespan. The appointee will work with a unique population-representative sample of 700 adults from 18-88 years of age, on whom we have already collected an extensive range of cognitive and brain measures (including multiple structural MRI contrasts, plus resting-state and task-based functional data from both fMRI and MEG). The main task will be to maintain, develop and extend the neuroimaging analysis pipelines, and support access to these data for both internal collaborators and external researchers via our data portal (https://camcan-archive.mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk/dataaccess). There is also plenty of scope for leading scientific projects on these data, and publishing research output.
You should have, or be in the final stages of obtaining, a PhD in cognitive neuroscience, neuroimaging methods or a related field, with experience of analysis of neuroimaging data, such as MRI, fMRI and MEG/EEG. You should have excellent programming and general IT skills, including expertise in Matlab and experience in Linux/Unix, as well as web and database skills. Experience with some of the major neuroimaging software (eg SPM/FSL/FieldTrip) would be desirable, as would experience developing, managing, or maintaining large datasets. You must be careful, efficient, able to communicate effectively, and enjoy working as part of a diverse and energetic interdisciplinary team. You should be committed to Open Science practices.
