Research Assistant/Associate: Electrophysiology (Fixed Term)

We are looking for a Research Assistant/Associate to join the group of Dr Albert Cardona studying the relationship between structure and function in neural circuits using electron microscopy-based circuit mapping, electrophysiology, modeling and behavior in Drosophila, see This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly formed research group recently relocated from the Janelia Research Campus in the US.

You should have significant experience in electrophysiology, specifically in: - electrophysiology, preferably patch-clamp - immunocytochemistry in whole-mount - data analysis, preferably with computer programming skills Experience with Drosophila fly husbandry is desirable.

You should have a PhD (or about to be awarded a PhD) in in biology, physics, chemistry or a related field. We are looking for someone who is also a good collaborator to liaise with other electrophysiologists/neuroscientists in the field thereby keeping up to date with the most recent technologies and protocols.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 December 2024 in the first instance.
