Job Opportunities

Visitor Assistant (Part-time)

Kettle's Yard is hiring for Visitor Assistants to grow our fantastic Visitor Services Team.

Visitor Assistants (VAs) are a public facing team which oversees the day-to-day security of the exhibitions and collections while also ensuring visitors' experience of Kettle's Yard is safe, enjoyable, accessible and informative.

This role functions across both the historic cottages and the newly built galleries. VAs are required to fulfil their dual function of safety and visitor engagement across both locations. No prior knowledge of Kettle's Yard, Jim Ede, or fine art is required. Successful candidates will be given training and will also be expected to learn on the job through research, active engagement with the collection and exhibitions, and through self-guided study. The VAs will report into the Visitor Services Manager and work as part of the Operations/Visitor Services team.

Kettle's Yard is open to the public between 11am and 5pm (The House from 12pm), Tuesday through Sunday and bank holiday Mondays.

The hours for this part-time post will vary by applicant but ideally will fall between 15 - 20 hours per week, worked across Tuesday to Sunday. There will be opportunities for additional hours to cover occasional evening events. Regular weekend working will be required.
