Supervisory Service Technician

We are seeking an experienced service technician, with supervisory experience, to coordinate anciliary (cagewash and preparation) support within a busy biofacility in Central Cambridge.

You will be responsible for organising and supervising the cage support area, associated equipment and service team; ensuring compliance of working practices and procedures at all times to maintain the high health status of the barrier facility, and that there is sufficient anciliary provision to meet the needs of the animals at all times.

Duties will include; day-to-day supervision of a small team of service area staff, operation and maintenance of service area equipment, monitoring working practices in line with SOP's and Health and Safety protocols including addressing any breaches and completion of associated paperwork, and basic animal husbandry as required. You will be an excellent communicator with a good level of general education (min. GCSE passes in English, Mathematics and Science subject - or equivalent) and proven supervisory experience. You will have experience of operating and maintaining service area (cagewash equipment), ideally through working in a designated establishment with laboratory animals, as well as a thorough understanding of health and safety issues in the workplace.

The post is available immediately and subject to the satisfactory completion of a 6 month probationary period.
