We are looking to recruit a Glasswasher/Cleaner to contribute to the glassware and cleaning services provided within the Department of Genetics
Duties will include collection, washing and autoclaving of laboratory glassware; restocking laboratories, media preparation rooms, and general glassware cupboards with clean glassware, autoclaving and disposing of contaminated disposables and plant soils; maintaining stock levels of glassware, plastic disposables and detergents; cleaning of all areas, including research laboratories, offices, teaching and meeting rooms, kitchen, communal areas, stairways and toilets.
No formal qualifications are required although NVQ 1 Cleaning Methods would be advantageous. Experience of laboratory and/or office cleaning would be beneficial as would a previous knowledge of the safety requirements regarding the use of cleaning products. Good communications skills and the ability work to effectively with others is essential. Due to the nature of the work, you also need to have a good level of physical fitness.
