Graduate Admissions Administrator (Database and Statistics)

The University of Cambridge is seeking an experienced full-time Admissions Administrator, with experience in statistics and database administration, to support the work of the Graduate Admissions Office. The Graduate Admissions Office is responsible for the admission of students to doctoral and non-doctoral postgraduate courses at the University of Cambridge. The office currently receives in excess of 20,000 applications annually from UK and International students.

The Admissions Administrator is responsible for facilitating the smooth progression of applications to Graduate Study; answering enquiries about this process from applicants, departments, degree committees, colleges and funding bodies. The Admissions Administrators carries out the quality assurance checking and offer making process for all applicants; checks and processes documentation submitted as evidence to meet offer conditions; confirms applicants' admission once all offer conditions have been satisfactorily met; processes the CAS for students requiring visas. The role holder is required to provide a high level of service and customer care to all staff and potential students, and will provide specialist support to the Database and Statistics Manager.

In supporting the Database and Statistics Manager the post holder will provide advice, support and assistance on the central database (CamSIS), liaising with the CamSIS technical team to improve existing procedures, analysing and trouble-shooting problems within the database. In addition, the role holder is required to develop, critically analyse, and prepare for presentation, data and statistics related to graduate admissions using CamSIS, Excel, and Access to be used as management information and in response to FOI requests.

The Head or Deputy Head of Graduate Admissions or the Database and Statistics Manager may also, from time to time, request other duties appropriate to the grade.
