The Faculty of Economics, Cambridge University has a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship available for a candidate working in macroeconomics who has recently been awarded a doctoral degree or expects to receive his/her degree by September 2019. The Fellowship is for a period of 2 years, with the option of a 1-year extension.
The Fellowship will be based at the Cambridge-INET Institute. The Cambridge-INET Institute was created to facilitate critical enquiry and broaden and accelerate the development of economic thinking.
We welcome applications from researchers working in the following area (a non-exclusive list of topics of interest is in parenthesis).
- Transmission mechanisms and economic policy (including firms and sectors in macroeconomics; households heterogeneity; monetary and fiscal policy in closed and open economies)

The successful candidate should demonstrate an ability to develop their own research ideas and also work as part of the Transmission mechanisms and economic policy research group in Cambridge. It is expected that the successful candidate's work will be at the cutting edge of the research frontier with a view to future publications in world leading journals.
If the successful candidate has not yet received their PhD by September 2019, he/she will be employed on University Grade 5 for Research Assistants starting at £26,243 to £31,302* per annum and once awarded his/her PhD the salary will be upgraded to Grade 7 for Research Associates (Fellowships), starting at £32,236 to £39,609 per annum. A Fellow will also have the possibility of joining a college.
