In early 2019, the University will relocate student support services to one purposely-designed Student Services Centre and a new support team will provide finance, HR, and facilities support to those services relocating to the new building. We are forming the support team in advance of the move. Therefore, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of something new.
This role will assist in the administration of accounts and maintain financial records that will include: undertaking tasks related to accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling petty cash: assisting with the preparation of month-end and year-end accounts; acting as the first point of enquiry for accounting queries.
Additionally, this role will provide a reception service for the Student Services Centre on a rota based system with other colleagues. Duties will include, welcoming visitors, dealing with telephone enquiries and collecting and distributing incoming post.
To perform this role we are seeking someone who can: demonstrate the knowledge of facts, principles, processes and general concepts related to finance / accounts; show themselves to be accurate and attentive to detail; evidence experience in Microsoft Office packages; display good customer service skills and can evidence experience of working in an office. You should be educated to GCSE level/NVQ level 2 or be able to demonstrate equivalent level of practical experience.
