PA to Head of Department and Departmental Administrator


In Zoology we are looking for an experienced PA to support the work of the Head of Department and the Departmental Administrator.

This role is central to the effective working of Zoology. The role offers diverse challenges and brings you into contact with staff and students from across the Department and more widely in the University. We offer a friendly and supportive working environment in a central Cambridge location.

The role-holder ensures there is efficient diary management for the HoD and DA and facilitates the smooth running of their offices. In addition, the PA role manages our reception function, undertakes committee support, takes responsibility for certain HR administrative duties, and leads on annual events and occasional one-off projects.

We are looking for someone who is organized and used to working to deadlines and with accuracy. You will need to demonstrate good communication skills to enable you to work with and support staff and students - you will often be the first port of call for someone who needs help to address a problem. You'll need to have good IT skills.

You'll need to be able to prioritize and plan your workload self-reliantly. And you'll need to be flexible and able to work on your own initiative.
