Research Assistant (Fixed Term)

A full time Research Assistant position is available for 1 year to work with Professor Roger Barker at the John Van Geest Centre for Brain Repair researching Parkinson's disease and Huntington's disease. The successful applicant ideally should have previous experience of clinical research (preferably including previous experience testing patients with a neurodegenerative disease), a good knowledge of GCP and the ethical review system. They should have a good understanding of the process of carrying out research, from design to implementation.

The post holder will work within a close clinical team of research assistants, doctoral students, post-doctoral researchers and clinicians on on-going clinical research projects within the lab group. Professor Roger Barker will be the supervisor and line manager and office accommodation will be located at the John Van Geest Centre for Brain Repair on the Forvie Site, Addenbrookes.

Because of the dynamic nature of the work undertaken in the Barker group the nature and balance of duties will vary over the course of the post and it is essential that the post holder is extremely flexible and can adapt to the needs of the post and other tasks that become relevant as required.
