Do you love providing a high-quality administrative service? Do you enjoy a varied workload?
We're looking for the right person to join our Business Team as the Business Team Administrator.
The MRC Epidemiology Unit, a department within the Clinical School, University of Cambridge, studies the genetic and environmental determinants of obesity, Type 2 diabetes and related metabolic disorders.
The department has recently expanded and staff are now located over six sites across the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and East Anglia (Ely, Wisbech and Norwich), requiring greater co-ordination to resolve day-to-day issues for the Facilities team. The increase in staff numbers has also increased the HR workload, with recruitment and employee relations work increasing correspondingly.
Reporting to the Reception and Facilities Supervisor, the role-holder will provide an efficient and effective administration service for the whole business team but concentrating on Facilities Management and Human Resources. The post-holder will also provide Reception cover for breaks for up to an hour a day.
We are looking for a highly organised individual who is happy to do a range of tasks, from organising the department's away days and dealing with maintenance issues to providing recruitment and HR administrative support to monitoring stationery and kitchen supplies.
You will have good oral and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy. You will be proficient in using the MS Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
It would advantageous for the role holder to have Facilities and/or HR administration experience. But don't worry; if you can convince us of your organisation and communication skills, we'll train you in the rest.
