Library Information Supervisor

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Department of Psychology as a Library Information Supervisor to take responsibility for all aspects of our busy and friendly specialist Departmental Library.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Librarian and will play an important role in maintaining a high standard of reader service to staff and students. They will also provide guidance to users enabling them to make best use of departmental, university and world ­wide resources. The Library Information Supervisor is also responsible for the maintenance and development of the Department of Psychology website. An interest in communicating via social media is essential. Previous experience in administrating archives is desirable.

Applicants must have experience of an academic library and a familiarisation with library IT and electronic issuing systems. Good organisation and communication skills are essential as well as the ability to work accurately and efficiently without supervision.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
